Description:

“From Ponder to Page”

All of us have poems and stories inside of us— experiences begging to travel the path from our minds to written lines. But, how to do this? In this workshop, literary performer Regie Gibson, will take you through his fun, easy, creative, step-by-step process of making small, meaningful written texts out of small, meaningful moments.

Come with a few sheets of paper, something to write with, and a willingness to listen to those who volunteer to share their work.

Presenter Bio:

He is featured in love jones, a film based on events in his life & is the co-creator of The Shakespeare Time-Traveling Speakeasy— a theatrical, literary-concert focusing on the life of William Shakespeare.

Excerpt from a Regie Gibson poem:

Let’s Take it Back
(A stray thought on ethno-musicology and socio-linguistics)
chorus:
let’s take it back to the dawn of time
before technology tamed our minds
a man took his hands and began to clap
and that was the beginning of the boom boom bap
