Hope Scrolls Art Workshop
Saturday January 28, 2023, 3-3:45 PM

Join L’Merchie Frazier from Violence Transformed’s Transformative Action Project (TAP) in a 45-minute art workshop in the Gallery. Surrounded by art from the “What’s Going On” exhibit, L’Merchie will lead workshop participants in the creation of Hope Scrolls. Hope scrolls are symbolic of petitions used since the early 1600’s in America as a form of protest for change, for rights and access necessary for survival. The Hope Scrolls workshop was created to use the power of art and the language of hope to reveal unheard voices and to share our stories.

Workshop materials provided.

The Transformative Action Project, an initiative of Violence Transformed @ The Public Health Advocacy Institute, is a unique victim service program supporting groups, communities and organizations impacted by violence and crime. TAP is funded by MOVA, Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance. Through an interplay of art and meditation TAP workshops allow us to imagine alternatives, and in doing so, to create new conditions of possibilities for ourselves, our relationships and our world.
